Many people think of Tennessee as just a country music hub. But with seven genres of music calling Tennessee home, nearly all musicians have a connection to Tennessee. And we wanted to show just how close those connections are.
We created a tool, in partnership with Rolling Stone, to prove that any artist has ties back to Tennessee in six degrees or less. To kick it off, we threw an epic party on Beale Street starring The Roots, Isley Brothers, Booker T, Elle King, Estelle, and more friends. I stood behind stage, filming Questlove through the curtains for our social channels…and after the show, I played it cool and didn’t ask for a picture. One of my biggest regrets.
